I am really excited for the kids to arrive on Tuesday! I think they will bring some life to the school! And lots of happy laughter :)
Right now my classroom is clean and organized, yet not as colourful as I would like. I need to make it a Lindsay room….which means BRIGHT AND HAPPY! The bright part will be taken care of by the life maps my students will be creating the first week. Their life maps will use pictures, symbols and words to convey their hobbies and interests, past activities and future plans. The happy part (as if colour is not happy enough!) will be taken care of by the second assignment of the week. For this assignment, I want each student to bring in a quote that they believe inspires excellence, promotes good citizenship and community in the classroom, or motivates others to achieve success. We are then going to post them around the classroom (on colourful paper, of course!) and use them to create a little bit of “pep”! I will refer to them as my classroom cheerleaders and I intend to be the cheerleading captain of this GREAT squad I have in Neverland! There is a quote I really believe in that states “nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm”. Here’s to being completely optimistic and ridiculously excited about starting on Tuesday! I think the little boy in the Disneyland commercial said it best when he confessed “I’m too excited to sleep!”.

You are sooooooo funny. And delightful. I love you. You know that right? xo
Excellent first day activities! You'll do great - someone with the amount of enthusiasm you've got will win the kids over and build a great classroom community quickly. Best of luck!
