A Disney-Like Farewell!

We call her J-DAWG, MAMA J, and SUPER JAZZ! Very fitting for someone so reassuring, confident, compassionate and fun. This girl, I tell ya….she’s a true charm!

J-DAWG and I have a very special relationship. We got to be sisters, roommates and leap-frog partners for the entire month of July (side note: she is one KILLER leap frogger)! She is a rock. She is an angel. She is an Olympian in the sport of friendship :) And this morning I got to spend TWO DELIGHTFUL HOURS with her at a coffee shop downtown! On usual days, this would have received a 12/10 on the day scale (in case you are not familiar with this system - the higher the score, the better the day). However, today our tea party was a designated goodbye event, and so I rate it an 11/10.

It was quite the goodbye, carried out in style. The dress code included jeans, a camp t-shirt, covered by a camp hoodie, and completed with a BIG SMILE! It was the greatest time! Naturally, J-DAWG made me feel less worried and more excited for my big adventure! She is so calming. You know those people that comfort you by their presence? The people that can make you feel better in a complete absence of words? They are rare, I think. But J-DAWG is one of them.

Obviously, a song from the movie “Enchanted” was performed at the departure. “How does she know that you love her?!” I think the downtown community was impressed with our vocals :) After all, we did practice our singing all summer long! The sing-a-long was accompanied by fast flying kisses, which we discovered may be cloned by the receiver if they decide to apply some science! As J-DAWG says “You clone that kiss, girl!”. Oh I will miss her.

I figure one year is not as long as one may think. One year is much shorter when it is compared to a decade. And much, much shorter when compared to the movies “Titanic”, “Lord of the Rings”, or “The Sound of Music”!!!!

Thank you for the inspirational tea party, MAMA J. Leap-frog team mates for LIFE!
