I have the SHAKES!

Addictions. I never thought I had one! Well…none of the “bad” ones. Smoking, no. Drugs, no. Porn, most certainly not! But today made me rethink the use of the term “bad”. What do we mean when we declare an addiction as a “bad” one? And if there are “bad” ones, doesn’t this mean that there are “good” ones too?

My cell phone. Oh my pretty and pink, ever-so-ladylike, appropriate for a tea party, cell phone. (I miss you. Shake, shake.). I knew the time was coming to part with my lovely possession, as I am leaving for Cairo on Monday. However, I thought I had prepared myself for this goodbye. WRONG-O! My phone is now in the hands of another glorious owner and I am in my room…alone (shake, shake). No cell phone in sight! It is much quieter in here tonight…no text messages, no phone calls. Just me and the blog. Rock on!

You get it. I miss my phone. But I am not just feeling gloomy. I am not just feeling mentally exhausted from remembering the good old days. I am shaking……and on edge….and feel the need to drive and retrieve it. In fact, I keep going over to my purse and looking inside. Maybe I will see a little sparkle in there….a sparkle that only my cell phone could have! Seriously! You know you have an addiction when……..

I think I answered my own question regarding addictions. From what I learned today, all addictions are bad ones! Except tea parties. Please, please, please, don’t burst my bubble on this one!!!
