My WEEK! :)

Because I have to pack my things for the weekend and go to bed ASAP, I will give you the fast-forward version of my week:

Mama Mia FINALLY came to Cairo. I went to see it on Monday evening with girls from work. Feedback on my first theatre experience in Egypt:
- assigned seating….SERIOUSLY?!
- the ability to purchase cigarettes in addition to popcorn – why on earth?!
- a random intermission that starts and ends with no warning….hmmmm..
- “The movie begins at 7” being a guideline? Maybe one day I will see what happens in the first 15 minutes.
- The movie itself – AWESOME. Any movie that promotes singing AND dancing deserves a level 4+.

Donkeys. I fell in love with them in Santorini and I have been more than lucky to see them on a daily basis since my return home! For two consecutive days, there has been a donkey outside of my apartment building! I have been thinking of suitable names just in case this trend continues.

ELK Lodge decided that everything good in life begins with “CH”. Cheese, chocolate, cheer, chai tea, charity, Chinese food, checkers (not chess), chapstick, chad micheal murray (OTH)………..and we believe Christmas also qualifies, despite the different pronunciation…

Speaking of Christmas, I started to create a “Christmas” playlist in my iTunes. This will be loaded onto my iPod later tonight for the 6 hour bus ride to Dahab tomorrow afternoon.

I may or may not have eaten a worm. My roommate did. It was green and came from the broccoli. I ate the same dish for lunch and we believe the odds are high.

We staged an oil spill in my environmental studies class, although we have learned that they are not THAT fun in real life. We also learned that whales are the coolest species ever and such creatures can still amaze grade 12 students :) P.S. I love my students.

Tonight I ordered spaghetti from Papa John’s at the school. I was quite starving and quite excited to eat my meal when it arrived. SHOCKINGLY - they claimed to have no forks with which to eat my spaghetti. After inquiring about how to go about enjoying my meal, I was asked, “didn’t you bring your own fork?”. Hmmm…I don’t usually carry cutlery with me to fast food businesses. On the upside, this could justify a new, BIGGER purse :)

And, lastly, I had many WONDERFUL long distance tea parties home to Canada! I am gone for the weekend but I dream of more LOVELY skype conversations next week!

XOXO - LINDSAY LOU!
