Home Sweet Home

So I moved. To a NEW apartment with two NEW roommates! I will not get into the reasons behind it, but I can tell you that I am very happy and I truly do feel “at home” in my new place :)

My new roommates are AWESOME. You can substitute awesome with any other word that implies incredibly great if you like. And if there is a word that means “better than awesome”, choose that one! We have a lot in common. They are definite Neverland citizens and I know you would have a ball in their presence. Here’s why:

We purchased aprons decorated with smiling fruit. We all have our own apron and have designated roles in the kitchen. I was declared “Cheerleader Chef”. This may or may not be an indication of my inability to cook….

We made chocolate cupcakes that spelled out “Have fun in Paris! We will miss you!” for my one roommate who is on a school trip for the week :) Licorice was used as lettering, as Egypt does not market icing writers. This required A LOT of teamwork on our behalf.

We have tea parties almost hourly. And Friday we intend on having a tea-drinking competition during our Brothers and Sisters marathon. We declared this as our new show and have abbreviated the name to “Sibs”. Clever, I believe.

We had an impromptu dinner party this past weekend. As four turned into eighteen, “the more, the merrier” rule certainly did apply!

We have matching lunch boxes. And we are laughed at for carrying them to and from school. We laugh back, because our lunches are COLD! :)

We have named the house “the ELK lodge”. “ELK” originates from our first names and reminds us of our homes in Wawa and Omemee, Ontario. Some people at school are calling us “Small Town Ontario”, but the ELK lodge is much more catchy, don’t you think?!

I’m sure I will have more stories from the ELK lodge in the future. Funny happens every moment here :) The laughter level is comparable (but not equal to!) the laughter level of the donkey ride. I am lucky to have such a happy, new home :)

Night Canada :)

p.s. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I do believe your home needs an official 'LOGO' so you can brand your lifestyle and sell t-shirts, hats, pashminas, teapots, tea and such all with the ELK logo. xo
