The NOISE, that is. I swear it followed me home from school yesterday! It was here last night in many forms and has continued today in full force.
First, it was the sound of many helicopters circling over Maadi (as a side note – why in the world were there helicopters circling my suburb?). Then, it was an intense call to prayer from the mosque across the street and children playing hide and seek in the alley below my room (who plays hide and seek at 2 a.m. and aren’t you supposed to be quiet during this game?!). And then today, this morning at 4:30 a.m., there was another EXTREME call to prayer…..followed by construction………followed by the “honk, honk, honk” resulting from the construction and finally, right now, a cat fight consisting of many contenders! Napping was such a good idea too……..ohhhhhhh how I wish for the serenity of Grassy Road!
