“I’ve got the whole world in my hands….”

Last weekend Kelly’s computer decided to shut off and never turn back on. It simply quit on him (insert bad words HERE)……...and the hard drive has refused to share its contents (insert all bad words you didn’t say the first time HERE). Please review Kelly’s hard drive contents below:

* Over 20,000 photos (from India, Kenya, Tanzania, Lebanon, Germany, Morocco, Sicily, Thailand, Cambodia….)
* Resume and Cover Letter (unfortunately, the computer crash also coincides with job application time)
* Teaching Resources (tests, assignments, outlines, notes, marks….)
* Music (Kelly has literally labelled his iPod as an “Egyptian noise blocker”….what good is this tool without MUSIC?!)

As you can imagine, the week has been a rough one! I am amazed, however, at Kelly’s cool composure….he has remained calm and logical. This is the complete opposite reaction that Emily or I would have in response to a broken Toshiba! AY AY AY! Our pictures! Our school work! Our LIFE! Accordingly, we made our way to the mall this weekend to purchase some external hard drives. Even MORE accordingly, we backed up our hard drives as soon as we got home. It turned out to be a hilarious activity (well, maybe not to Kelly) because Emily was holding the little device in her hands and singing “I’ve got the whole world in my hands, I’ve got the whole world in my hands….”.

SO TRUE.

p.s. our external hard drives are PINK!
