Goodbye ELK LODGE, HELLO “J. LINDS ARENA”

As sad as I am to leave ELK LODGE, I am happy to be welcomed into a new GREAT home – the J. LINDS ARENA! The J. LINDS ARENA is located on the ninth floor of my current building and consists of TWO members only (I know…it’s a difficult transition already). The two members include: 1) myself and 2) my friend Jeff. Jeff is a Detroit native who cheers for the NHL team that just lost to Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup Finals (a.k.a. the Detroit Red Wings). The derivation of the house name is quite simple really: “J” for Jeff, “Linds” for Lindsay and “J. LINDS ARENA” in honour of the “Joe Louis Arena” in Jeff’s home state. I’m not a huge supporter of the Detroit organization, but I happen to be a huge supporter of my new roommate. I’m also a huge supporter of a “Joe Louis”, the delicious chocolate snack that comes in both half and full moon sizes. With this in mind, I feel the house name is a true compromise.

My packing started today. The actual “moving” part hasn’t begun. I think I’m scared to declare ELK LODGE over………..but then I think, “how scared was I to come to Egypt?!” and my thoughts change. Scared, schmared, I say! There would have been no ELK LODGE without bravery! The J LINDS ARENA will be no different. A relocation will happen, beginning tomorrow!
