Points for originality...

The day before a long holiday, such as march break, is often welcomed with end-of-unit tasks and assessments.  Let's face it, a teacher does not want to re-teach and a student does not want to re-learn material from "long" ago.  As such, yesterday was "UNIT TEST DAY!" in room 33 :)

Unit test day is always accompanied by excuses and complaints.  "Can we write it tomorrow?  Can we use our notebooks?  Can you just give us all 100%?!"  Ugh.....NO!

So the test begins as planned and I receive a new string of excuses and complaints following its completion.  "I didn't do well because I was tired.  I failed because I left my notebook at home.  I could have done better if I didn't have basketball practice."  BAHA.  My response?  "I am so happy you learned about time management this week."

Anyways, yesterday I heard a new post-test excuse that I vote blog-worthy:

"Miss, I couldn't study for my test because I had to help my maid slice cheese and toast bread.  I was running from fridge to oven, fridge to oven, fridge to oven.....and I know I should have gone from fridge to oven to notebook, fridge to oven to notebook...."

Oh jeez.  I burst out laughing.  Can you give bonus points for humour?!

(Probably...but I believe in the old-fashioned way of earning marks....STUDYING!)
