My Adventures in London!

Oh London, a city of impossible boredom. I could live there and be happy forever. A chai tea latte and a stroll along the Thames will hook your heart too :) Here are my trip highlights:

  • The Tate Modern. I don't even like looking at art (or so I thought!), but somehow I very much enjoyed my two hours here. Yes, I realize you can spend days at the Tate, but two hours was just right to begin my love (haha) for art.
  • The London Eye. I was quite nervous to go on my second ferris wheel ride of all-time (the first was in Lebanon......and those that were there understand and share my fear). However, I saw too many seniors and children in line to deny the ride when I got there. I found my brave and..........LOVED it! You can see amazing views of London on this large observation wheel.....views that are impossible from any place else!
  • The Royal Parks. Royal, INDEED! Such pristine places to walk, play, nap, picnic, write, draw, study........if it weren't so cold outside, I would have spent everyday in one of the city's royal parks. My favourites include: Hyde Park (with the beautiful Princess Diana Memorial Fountain) and Kensington Gardens (the one with the Peter Pan statue...how appropriate!).
  • The Stonehenge. Okay, so it really is just a pile of rocks. Honestly - you drive two hours outside of the city to find a bunch of giant rocks in the middle of a field. Boring? NOT EVEN. How did they get there?! Why were they put there?! Intriguing and beautiful :) Worth every kilometre.

  • The Prime Meridian of Longitude. Located at zero hour and zero degrees, it is the point that determines how all clocks are set. Ah - a place that values TIME (hmmm...not that I have been bitter about time management in Egypt). At this very COOL spot, I was able to stand in the Eastern hemisphere AND the Western hemisphere at the same time! You need to try it.......where else does straddling a line leave you smiling for hours?!

I would go back in a second. Maybe I will. Hey, Peter and Tink! I'll meet you at Big Ben!
